What are the defects?
On affected vehicles, the passenger airbag may not be filled with the required volume of gas. This has occurred due to a production fault leading to a defective weld joint on the gas generator for the airbag.
What are the hazards?
In the event of an accident where the passenger airbag is deployed, the ability of the airbag to protect the passenger could be compromised as a result, posing an injury hazard.
What should consumers do?
Audi Australia Pty Ltd is contacting all known owners of a affected vehicles. Consumers should contact their nearest authorised Audi Dealer to arrange for inspection and replacement of the airbag unit for the passenger airbag on the affected vehicles.
