What are the defects?
Due to a processing error, the locking pin securing the head restraint may be missing on individual head restraints for the rear centre seat.
What are the hazards?
If the centre rear seat is occupied in an accident, the centre head restraint may detach from the guide pins. There may be increased risk of injury to the passenger in this seat as the support and protection functions of the head restraint may not perform as expected.
What should consumers do?
Audi Australia Pty Ltd will contact all known owners of affected vehicles. Consumers should contact their nearest Audi Dealer to arrange for inspection and replacement of the head restraint, if necessary.
For any queries or concerns, please contact the Audi Australia 24-hour toll free number 1800 50 AUDI (2834).
