What are the defects?
Moisture may enter the diesel fuel filter heater at the electric contacts.
(Note: The diesel fuel filter heater unit only operates at tempratures below -1° Celcius.)

What are the hazards?
Electrical short-circuits may occur in the area of the electric contacts of the fuel filter heater. This may result in the short-term discharge of the starter battery and the vehicle will no longer start. In unfavourable circumstances, a short-circuit in the fuel filter heater may also lead to an engine fire when the vehicle is switched off.
