What are the defects?

When using child seats with ISOFIX mounting and additional support on the vehicle floor, it can lead to fatigue fractures of the ISOFIX retaining brackets. Causing the ISOFIX brackets to crack around the welded point in the vehicle.

What are the hazards?

If the retaining bracket breaks, the ISOFIX child seat may not be correctly secured in the vehicle, resulting in a risk of serious injury to the child.

What should consumers do?

Owners should not use an ISOFIX child restraint in their vehicles. Known owners will be contacted by BMW Group Australia Ltd or a BMW dealer.
