What are the defects?
Electrical over-stress of a resistor in the occupant restraint module may lead to the non-deployment of the active head restraints during a rear impact collision.
What are the hazards?
In the event of a crash necessitating the deployment of the active head restraints, the non-deployment of the active head restraints may increase the risk of injury.
What should consumers do?
A letter is being sent to affected customers. Chrysler dealerships can be contacted to arrange an appoint to reprogram the Totally Intergrated Power Module (TIPM) or replace the occupant restraint module.
