What are the defects?

Certain batches of sunroof motors had incorrect software installed and may not have an automatic safety stop function. When the sunroof is closing, it will not automatically stop when it is obstructed.

What are the hazards?

Without the automatic safety stop function, the motor will continue to close the sunroof glass, which may result in an injury to a person if a body part is caught between the glass and the sunroof’s window frame.

What should consumers do?

Hyundai will contact affected i30 owners. Consumers will be instructed to take their vehicle to an authorised Hyundai dealership to have the vehicle inspected. If the sunroof motor is found to be faulty, it will be replaced free of charge.

For further information, consumers can contact Hyundai's Customer Care Centre on 1800 186 306, or find their local dealer at www.hyundai.com.au/dealer
