What are the defects?
Due to improper programming of the Airbag Control Unit (ACU), there is a possibility that the driver, passenger airbags and seat belt pretensioners could inadvertently deploy without impact.
What are the hazards?
If the airbag is deactivated or is inadvertently activated, this increases the risk of an accident and injury to the vehicle occupants and other road users.
What should consumers do?
Hyundai Motor Company Australia will notify affected owners in writing to bring their vehicle to an authorised Hyundai dealership and have the airbag control module reprogrammed, free of charge.
