What are the defects?
After the ignition key is turned on, it takes approx. 1 second to initialize the TCM (Transmission Control Module).
If a vehicle is parked with a gear engaged (i.e. the ignition key was turned off with the gear shift lever positioned at “D” or “M” in the previous driving cycle) and the driver quickly turns the ignition key from the “OFF” position to the “START” position within 1 second before TCM is initialized, the starter motor may move the vehicle unexpectedly.

What are the hazards?
F-series and N-series defect:
When the driver shifts the lever to the “N” position before starting the engine, the starter motor will operate for approx. 1 second even if the brake pedal is not depressed. If the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle could move slightly unexpectedly.
F-series defect only:
Even if gear the shift lever is positioned at “D” and the brake pedal is not depressed, the starter motor will operate for approx. 0.3 seconds. If the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle could move slightly unexpectedly.
