What are the defects?

The Push-Button Engine Start Switch may remain in the pressed position due to excessive friction and not return after switching the engine on. If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition, the emergency engine stop function may operate and cause the engine to stop without the driver’s intention.

What are the hazards?

If the defect occurs whilst driving, this poses an accident hazard to the driver and other road users.

What should consumers do?

Owners of vehicles within the affected VIN range will be advised to contact their Nissan Dealer to arrange for the Push Engine Start Switch to be reworked. The rectification will be at no cost to owners.
