What are the defects?
During refueling, if the fuel nozzle is turned or not inserted incorrectly into the filler tube, the liquid fuel can leak into the fuel tank system. Liquid fuel can be sucked into the engine's intake duct during carbon canister regeneration.
What are the hazards?
As a result, an ignitable fuel/air mixture could form in the intake duct, which can cause misfiring or even deflagration. In a worst case scenario the engine could stall and increase the risk of a car accident.
What should consumers do?
Affected customers will be contacted by mail or can contact their nearest Porsche dealer to arrange an inspection and repair of the vehicle.
