What are the defects?
The plastic sleeve of the selector lever cable may not be durable throughout the service life of the vehicle. If the plastic sleeve breaks, the transmission may not change into park mode when the driver shifts the vehicle into park.
What are the hazards?
If the transmission is not in park mode and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle may unintentionally roll-off, increasing the risk of an accident or injury to vehicle occupants and surrounds.
