What are the defects?
The brake booster may have been incorrectly manufactured, causing an internal fault.
What are the hazards?
If the brake pedal is repeatedly operated whilst driving, loss of braking assist could increase the vehicle's stopping distance. This could result in an accident causing injury or death of vehicle occupants or other road users.
What should consumers do?
Toyota will contact affected owners in writing, requesting that owners make an appointment at their preferred Toyota dealer for inspection and free of charge repair, if required.
