What are the defects?
A software code in the Active Safety Domain Master (ASDM) system has been identified as missing, which can result in the Automatic Emergency Brake (AEB) system not triggering the automatic brakes.
What are the hazards?
If the driver fails to react to the AEB collision warning and the system fails to activate the brakes, there is an increased risk of collision. This could cause serious injury to the vehicle occupants and other road users.
The usual brakes and the collision warnings and brake support for pedestrians and bicycles are not affected.
