What are the defects?
There is a possibility that due to a software error within the Headlight Control Module (HCM), vehicles fitted with Adaptive LED Headlamps could experience a condition that causes the headlamps to switch off.
What are the hazards?
If this condition occurs the vehicle ignition has to be cycled off/on to enable the headlamps to be re-activated.
What should consumers do?
Ford will write to owners of all affected vehicles. Until the Safety Recall Service is completed, if the vehicle’s headlamps should unexpectedly turn off, customers are advised to turn on their hazard warning lamps and find the closest safe place to pull over where they can cycle their ignition off and on again. This will allow the headlamps to be turned on again.
Owners are advised to contact their Ford Authorised Ford Dealership for rectification.
