What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing issue, the vehicle-sensitive locking mechanism in the driver seat belt assembly may not lock as designed when the retractor body or vehicle is decelerated or tilted.
What are the hazards?
In the event of an accident or hard braking, the driver's seat belt may not operate correctly, increasing the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.
What should consumers do?
Owners will be notified and instructed to take their vehicle to an approved Land Rover dealer to have their vehicle inspected and repaired free of charge.
