What are the defects?
The sealing of the high-voltage battery housing may reduce overtime, allowing moisture to enter. The moisture may result in the corrosion of the battery potentially resulting in an electrical short increasing the risk of a fire.
What are the hazards?
A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Mercedes-Benz and are asked to make arrangements with their nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible.
