What are the defects?
The front seat belt pretensioner may not function properly due to a deviation in the seatbelt initiator generant mix ratio in some initiators.
What are the hazards?
In the event of a crash the front seat belt pretensioner may fail to operate when required. Failure to operate can lead to increased injuries to the front seat occupants.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified and instructed to take their vehicle to a Jaguar dealer who will inspect both front seat belt assemblies for identification of the production date and corresponding part number. If the seat belt production date and part number is from the specified components at risk, it will be replaced. If the seat belt production date and part number is not from the specified components at risk, no further action is required.
