What are the defects?
The rear leaf spring may fracture due to an insufficient diameter of the front eye.
What are the hazards?
If the rear leaf spring fractures, the parking brake cable may unintentionally be applied due to the rear axle being unsupported on the failed side. This could cause an accident and injury to occupants of the vehicle and other road users.
What should consumers do?
Isuzu UTE Australia Pty Ltd is contacting all known owners of affected vehicles.
Consumers should contact their nearest Isuzu UTE dealer to arrange for inspection and repair consisting of replacement of the rear leaf spring assembly.
