What are the defects?
Part of the vehicle's engine harness may come into contact with the metal link pipe heatshield and chafe, causing damage to wires within the engine harness bundle.
What are the hazards?
If damage occurs to the engine harness wires, the engine may stall, misfire or rupture the exhaust system, possibly causing loss of power and increasing the risk of an accident and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted and notified of the recall. Alternatively, owners may contact their nearest McLaren dealership to arrange an inspection and repair of the vehicle, free of charge.
