What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing issue, when the rear seat back is placed into the upright position; the seat lock assembly may not lock.
What are the hazards?
In the event of an accident or hard braking, the rear seat lock may not operate correctly. As a result seat occupants or items in the luggage compartment may not be restrained. This increases the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.
What should consumers do?
Owners will be contacted by Nissan and asked to contact an authorised Nissan dealer to arrange a suitable time to have the vehicle repaired, free of charge.
