Regulator comments
Two-wheeled 50cc scooter (affects those sold from August 2011 to August 2012)
What are the defects?
Some rear wheel rims of the scooters are too thin around the centre splined section. This may affect scooters sold from August 2011 to August 2012.
What are the hazards?
The thin section of wheel rim can crack and break, possibly causing the wheel to separate from the main hub and resulting in a serious accident.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should immediately stop riding the scooter and contact the place of purchase to see if their Kwik50 scooter is affected.
