What are the defects?
Due to a software issue, the multi-media system may display video images while driving. This can result in driver distraction potentially drawing their attention away from the road.
What are the hazards?
If the driver is distracted while the vehicle is in motion this will increase the risk of an accident possibly causing serious injury or death.
What should consumers do?
Lexus will contact affected owners in writing together with SMS and email, where available requesting that owners make an appointment at their preferred Lexus Dealer who will update the software program, free of charge.
An upcoming software update that will be provided 'Over the Air' (OTA) without the need to visit a Lexus Dealer for a manual update will be available from June 2022.
