What are the defects?

Due to a manufacturing issue, the wiring harnesses of the front wheel speed sensors may be damaged and the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system may be deactivated. This could result in a loss of vehicle control.

Warning lights will illuminate in the instrument cluster indicating to the driver that the VDC is not activated.

What are the hazards?

A loss of vehicle control will increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

What should consumers do?

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible free of charge.
