What are the defects?
Due to the design of the fuel tank vent tube assembly, there is a possibility it could develop a stress related crack. A stress related crack over time could expand to eventually allow fuel to leak from the crack. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.
What are the hazards?
A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders.
What should consumers do?
Owners will be contacted by Lexus Australia and asked to contact their nearest authorised Lexus dealer to have their vehicle rectified, free of charge.
