What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the DC-DC converter that supports charging the 12V battery may short circuit and overheat resulting in a vehicle fire.
What are the hazards?
A vehicle fire increases the risk of causing serious injuries or death to the vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders and/or damage to property.
What should consumers do?
Lexus will contact affected owners in writing, requesting they make an appointment at their preferred Lexus dealer who will replace the DC-DC converter, free of charge.
