What are the defects?
The hood latch striker rivet studs may have been assembled with insufficient deformation. If this occurs, at high speeds small gaps between the hood and front bumper could develop. This may potentially cause the latch system to fail, resulting in the hood opening abruptly or detaching from the vehicle.
What are the hazards?
If the hood opens abruptly or detaches from the vehicle whilst driving, it may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to road users, bystanders, and/or damage to property.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicle can contact their authorised Lamborghini dealer for the replacement latch striker rivet studs, free of charge.
