What are the defects?
In cold ambient temperatures, the DC-DC converter may shut down and prevent the 12-volt battery from recharging, resulting in a loss of drive power if the vehicle continues to be driven. Warning lights in the instrument cluster will illuminate and a warning message will also appear.
What are the hazards?
Loss of power could result in the vehicle slowing or stopping, increasing the risk of an accident.
