What are the defects?
In affected vehicles the wiring loom may touch the clutch pipe. In a worst case scenario the clutch pipe may rub through the wiring loom insulation creating a short circuit that may cause the engine to stall and not restart.
What are the hazards?
A stalled engine and/or inability to start or restart the engine may pose a safety risk to the driver and/or other road users. In a worst case scenario this could lead to serious injury or death.
What should consumers do?
Known owners will be contacted by mail and asked to present their vehicle to their preferred Subaru Retailer for inspection and/or rectification at no charge.
