What are the defects?

On some Polo vehicles a backrest frame, with incorrect welding, may have been fitted on the front seats.

What are the hazards?

An incorrect weld may cause noises from the front seats. However, it cannot be completely ruled out that if this fault remains undetected and the vehicle is involved in an accident the backrest may fail and lead to injury.

What should consumers do?

A letter is being sent to affected owners of the vehicles. For further information, customers can contact their local Volkswagen Authorised Service Centre or contact Volkswagen Customer care on 1800 504 076.
