What are the defects?

The front wheel well to body panels may not have been sealed according to manufacturing specifications. Moisture may enter the interior of the body via the front wheel wells and cause damage to control units and electrical components in the area. If this occurs the instrument cluster may not display information as intended, or the engine may stall during vehicle operation and may not be possible to be restarted.

What are the hazards?

A loss of power while driving increases the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

What should consumers do?

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible free of charge.

A full list of authorised dealerships can be found at www.mercedes-benz.com.au
