What are the defects?

Due to a manufacturing defect, the safety chain fitted to the caravan may be underrated for the caravan’s Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM). In the event of the caravan unhitching from the tow vehicle whilst in transit, the safety chain may fail resulting in the tow vehicle becoming detached from the caravan.

What are the hazards?

A loss of caravan control will increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to occupants and other road users.

What should consumers do?

AMH Products will contact affected owners in writing, requesting that they make an appointment at their preferred repairer to have the safety chain inspected and replaced if required, free of charge.
