What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the wiring that supplies power to the electric emergency braking system could contact steel components of the chassis. If this occurs, it may fail to supply power to braking and lighting systems of the vehicle and lead to reduced performance of the emergency braking system and inoperative rear lamps.
What are the hazards?
A reduction in emergency braking performance and inoperative rear lamps could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Star Vision in writing, and are asked to make an appointment to have the repairs carried out, free of charge.
