What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the vehicles are missing a hand rail adjacent to the service door as required by Australian Design Rule (ADR) 58/5 – Access to and from omnibuses. Additionally, the luminous colour of the destination board does not comply with the standards set out in ADR 58/22 – Additional lamps.
What are the hazards?
An incorrect configuration of the door hand rails, could fail to assist passengers in safely navigating the stairs, increasing the risk of serious injury.
If a destination lamp is displaying the incorrect light colour, road users may not be able to identify the destination of the bus.
Vehicles are not compliant with the ADR 58/00 - Requirements for Omnibuses Designed for Hire and Reward.
