What are the defects?

The brake lamp switch assembly may have been installed incorrectly, if the hill starting assist device (EZGO) is activated, there may be a large time lag until the brake lamp lights illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed. In addition, the Collision Damage Mitigation Brake (AEBS) and Vehicle Behaviour Stabilisation System (ASR) may stop functioning and relevant warning lamps may illuminate.

What are the hazards?

If the brake lamps do not operate as intended, it may increase the risk of an accident causing serious injuries or death to vehicle occupants and/or road users.

What should consumers do?

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their nearest authorised Daimler Truck dealership as soon as possible to have the work carried out, free of charge.
